Has 2020 been a ride yall?! Or has it been a ride?? It has been an interesting one to say the least. I have struggled, boy have I struggled, but I have grown and changed, for the better. When I penned my 2020 resolutions in my journal I had no idea we’d be in the midst of a full blown pandemic by the end of March (obviously). So, sticking to those goals became very difficult. My once quasi-ordered life literally became complete and utter chaos.

One of those resolutions was weightloss. I know I know, typical, everyone wants that. Every year I try and every year I give up, but once I finally got in the right headspace about it this year, it became easier to tackle. Now, I didn’t just want to lose weight for reasons of vanity. I wanted to feel better. Excess weight has exacerbated my joint pain, it has hindered my quality of sleep, and I feel sluggish all of the dang time. I have 3 wild boys. I am not sure a fitness trainer could even keep up with them. They are little bundles of energy constantly on the go. These 3 are my why. Why I want to be healthier physically and mentally. I’ve struggled with weight loss, arthritic joints, severe GERD, and anxiety/depression issues among other things.
I was having a conversation with my mom about this, and she was like, “Kristin why don’t you try the KETO diet? I have heard and seen so many awesome results in some of my facebook groups.” I was pretty much like, “absolutely not! I don’t want to partake in a fad diet.” The conversation dropped, a few months later she brought it up again, and asked me to try it with her. So, I did a TON of research. I spent hours combing information from health professionals to bloggers to friends et cetera… I found out it helps curb symptoms of GERD and Anxiety! Like hello! Sign! Me! Up!

I began my keto journey in August, and I cannot believe how I feel! I rarely have GERD flare ups, my energy has sky-rocketed, I sleep better, and am overall in a better mood. Plus, I am down 20 pounds and an entire pant size. Starting out wasn’t easy for me, because I am extremely busy. Before I knew about all my resources Keto took A LOT of planning. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be complicated or hard. You just need the right tools. One of my favorite go-tos is Keto Chow. They have wonderful resources and amazing Keto products that help simplify your journey. Chris Blair, founder of Keto Chow stated, “I want to help people change their lives… and help them not go nuts in the process.” He is on point with this! I felt like I was being pulled in a million directions, now it’s easy peasy.
Keto Chow is more than just a product, it is a resource. Keto is more than just a diet, it is a lifestyle. Skip the trial and error and just enjoy the process. The shakes are delicious. You get a third of your daily nutrients in one shake, while maintaining low carbohydrate intake! You can use it for as many meals as you want, AND Keto Chow shakes are made with high quality ingredients by folks that actually DO keto. So you know you aren’t getting a bunch of fluff when you order from them . My current fave flavor is Pumpkin Spice Caramel, if you’ve been following me for a while you know I’m as basic as they come. Electrolyte intake also plays an important role when you begin the keto lifestyle. What are electrolytes you ask? They are essential minerals like, sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium, that are needed for your body to function the way it was intended. They contribute to muscle regulation, help balance your pH levels, and keep you hydrated (and much more)! When you begin keto there is a major metabolic shift in your body, you are literally shifting from burning carbs for energy to fat for energy, which is known as… drum roll please….. KETOSIS!
Ketosis increases your need for excess electrolytes. I was initially extremely fatigued and craved salt like crazy when I began the diet. I added electrolytes to the mix. That’s when the energy increased. It is seriously astonishing at the change in energy levels. Keto Chow offers a variety of electrolyte supplements.
- Electrolyte Drops: a balanced mix of Sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium (along with other trace minerals).
- Mag Drops: concentrated Magnesium with some Sodium and Potassium (along with other trace minerals).
- Fasting Drops: High levels of Sodium with some Magnesium and small traces of Potassium (along with other trace minerals).
I am not a physician or any kind of medical expert, but wanted to share my story. I feel better. I look better. My confidence is shifting. My anxiety is decreasing. I am loving these new found feelings. This is for those that may need a little more info about the Keto diet or how to simplify it. It really isn’t just a diet, it is a lifestyle. I love that I have found a company that has built a community of like-minded individuals. Keto Chow practices what they preach and it shows in the quality of their product, their passion for the community and the resources they provide. Check out their products here !
